Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician from the United States. Born October 20, 1964, she is the 49th Vice President of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female vice-president and the highest ranking female official in U.S history. A part of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the attorney general of California from 2011 until 2017 and also as an United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Her professional career started in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later promoted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General for California. She was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sánchez during the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to be a senator in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. In the news, attention was paid to her shrewd questioning of Trump administration officials during Senate hearings. This included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
